Job Purpose: The Honda Trading America (HTA) Parts department supports Hondas manufacturing supply network by providing flexible parts sourcing options to Honda factories and the local supply base. Using a global network of Honda Trading (HT) offices, external strategic partnerships, and our internal expertise, we purchase and deliver components with a focus on strengthening Hondas global procurement capabilities. This position exists to work within the New Business Development Team of the Parts Department to generate quoting and sales opportunities thru extensive outside sales development efforts. Make appointments and call on current and potential customers. Report schedule in advance and document results to Team Leader. Obtain customer RFQs and initiate required actions. Interface effectively to convey project/RFQ requirements with HTA internal staff for cost and quotation development. Present quotation and project details to customers. Obtain acceptance/commitment from customer on HTA quotes or, detailed feedback on why quote was not accepted. Summarize results of efforts and activities. Responsibilities: Visit current and potential customers to gain/obtain new business. Schedule and meet with current and potential customer to present HT Global Supply Network capabilities, HT Americas Valued Added activities and merits. Improve customer relations where needed. Gather information and analytics which allow HTA to clearly understand customer needs, directions, requests, and future needs. Establish productive and successful dialogue which allows HTA to support and expand support to Honda and L1 customers. Ensure compliance activities are carried out in a timely manner and during development period and completed before mass production. Issue quotes and presentation materials to customers on a timely basis. Communicate to management. Ensure formal and accurate reporting is maintained and reflects activities, visit schedules, quotes issued, results, and analysis of results. Daily and weekly communication with Team Leader and weekly and monthly communication with Department management. Effectively interface with HTA costing/quoting team. Share all details of RFQ and project opportunities in a timely manner with the internal team. Discuss customer circumstances and environment to ensure that costing/quoting is completed effectively and timely. Document project and RFQ opportunities via standard template for internal sharing and audit purposes. Experience: Minimum five years experience of outside sales in the Automotive OEM or International trading environment. Knowledge: Firm understanding of International and JIT manufacturing environment. Basic understanding of Inco Terms and other regulations of the international trade environment. Required Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills. Strong presentation skills. Strong challenging spirit. Negotiation skills. Ability to deal with new environments, unknown situations and meeting new people. Ability to manage time efficiently and productively. Degree: Bachelors degree in Marketing, Logistics or related field preferred or equivalent experience. Position Factors: Position is \"Non-commission sales\" role. Willingness to work overtime (approximately 5 hours per week).
